Summer 2025 Trips

1) Harbor Islands Day Trip

Saturday, July 19, 2025

Come explore Boston Harbor’s George’s Island!

We will meet at Long Wharf by 9:30AM to board the ferry.
George’s Island has a flat walking trail, a fort to explore, and other activities we can do as a community.

We expect to return to Long Wharf by 4:00 PM.
More exact times will be provided prior to the event.
Please bring a lunch, snacks, and water as needed.

Registration is required using the application below.

2) White Mountain Summer Adventure Trip

August 22-24, 2025

If you have been before, you know our trip is full of outdoor exploration, new learning, and reuniting with friends, both old and new. The weekend is full, with hiking, tandem cycling, kayaking and rock climbing, along with campfires, mountain air, sing-a-longs, and shared meals. This year, in our new site, the Highland AMC Center of Bretton Woods, we have a wonderful experience ahead of us!
When considering this event, please carefully consider your fitness readiness; all activities present challenge and require a high level of physical conditioning. Rain options will be available as needed.

Our activities are:

Friday

  • Travel to the Highland Center for an afternoon warm-up hike and dinner.

Saturday

  • Hike:  with experienced guides, on a beautiful mountain trail with challenging varied terrain.

Sunday

  • Explore one primary activity: (you may have some time to explore another activity, time allowing). 
  • Kayaking for all levels:  both single and double- offering stroke training, games on the water, and challenges and laughter for all, with experienced paddlers and guides.
  • Tandem Biking: (for all levels) with experienced Captains led by Adaptive Sports Partners of the North Country.
  • Indoor Rock Climbing: beginners or experienced, with trained guides led by Adaptive Sports Partners of the North Country.


The Highland Center of AMC, perched on the top of Crawford Notch, and surrounded by the Presidential Range, a long gorgeous notch below, fire pits, walks, two small shops, a gallery of famous mountain photographs, and a concert on Saturday night! The Center offers all our meals, a fireplace, and rooms for gathering.

Carpooling / Transportation from the Boston Area will be available, provided by NESFL by reservation only. A small “gas fee” for the drivers will be added to the bill of those who use this carpooling option. All carpooling from the Boston area will depart at 9am Friday. 

Cost: The Full Weekend Package is at a subsidized price of $300 per person (additional $20 for carpooling transportation) ; price includes two nights’ lodging, lunch and dinner on Friday, all meals on Saturday, breakfast and lunch on Sunday, and all activities. The great company is at no additional charge!

Financial assistance may be available upon request.

Financial Assistance Policy

NESFL understands that cost may prohibit individuals from coming on our trips. Although our fundraising efforts allow us to provide assistance in some cases, our Bylaws specify that any financial assistance is limited to 75% of the trip cost.

If you would like to apply for financial assistance, please send an email to info@nesfl.org with the Subject: Financial Assistance Request. Please provide the following information:

  • Full name
  • Phone number  
  • Trip you wish to attend.
  • Amount of assistance requested, (no more than 75% of trip cost).
  • Financial assistance awards you have received from NESFL in the past, if any.

We will respond to you as soon as possible. Anything you share will remain confidential.
