Financial assistance may be available upon request.
We strive to make our trips affordable for every blind or low-vision explorer and sighted guide who wants to attend as follows:
- First-Timer Discount: We are pleased to welcome new explorers and guides with a 25% discount off the registration cost only; transportation and equipment rental costs will not be subsidized. If you indicate on your application that this is your first trip of any kind with NESFL, we will confirm and adjust your fee accordingly.
- General Assistance: Financial aid is available on a first-come, first-served basis and limited by our bylaws to 75% of the trip registration cost only; transportation and equipment rental costs are not subsidized.
- If you would like to apply, please send an email to our Treasurer, (treasurer@nesfl.org), with the Subject: Financial Assistance Request. Please provide the following information:
- 1. Full name
- 2. Phone number
- 3. Trip you wish to attend.
- 4. Amount of assistance requested, (no more than 75% of trip registration cost).
- 5. Financial assistance awards you have received from NESFL in the past, if any.
We will respond to you as soon as possible. Anything you share will remain confidential. Please note that the total amount of financial assistance available for each trip is limited.
